Punished Or Pardoned in The World & In Hereafter by Allah Azzawajal

Ali narrated that the Messenger of Allah[salallahualaihiwasallam] said,

He who sins in this life and was punished for it, then Allah is far more just than to combine two punishments on His servant. He who commits an error in this life and Allah hides this error and pardons him, then Allah is far more generous than to punish the servant for something that He has already pardoned.

Recorded by Ahmad, Ibn Majah and At-Tirmidhi who said, "Hasan Gharib.''

Essentiality of Seeking Refuge in Allah from Four Things

The Book of Prayers (Kitab Al-Salat) Muslim :: Book 4 : Hadith 1217 Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) said: When any one of you utters tashahhud (in prayer) he must seek refuge with Allah from four (trials) and should thus say:" O Allah! I seek refuge with Thee from the torment of the Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trial of life and death and from the evil of the trial of Masih al-Dajjal" (Antichrist).

“Allah humma ‘innee a’u’thu bika min athabi jahannam wa min athabil qabri wa min fitnatil mah ya wal mamatee wa min shar-ril masihid-daj-jal”

Excellent dua

The Prophet (Sallalahualaihiwasallam) would say, “Allah hum maghfirlee warhamnee wajburnee war fa’nee wahdinee wa ‘afinee warzuqnee “ (Sahih - Abu Dawood, At-Tirmithi, Ibn Maajah, and Al-Haakim)

(Oh Allah, forgive me, and have mercy on me, and keep me on the right path, and keep me healthy, and provide me with Halaal sources of living, and complete my shortcomings, and make my rank high.)

Lying

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “It is lying enough for a man to repeat everything he hears” (Muslim, 1.10: 5. S), because as Imam Nawawi observes, “one generally hears both truth and falsehood, and to repeat everything one hears without checking will necessarily mean telling lies” (Sharh Sahih Muslim, 1.75).

Salaam

Indeed all praise is for Allah and may peace and blessingsbe upon His Messenger Muhammad, his family, his companionsand all those who follow upon his way until the Last Day.

Innal hamdulilah was salaatu was salaamu ala Muhammadan rasulahi, wa ala alaahi, wa sahaabahi, wa min at-taabiee hudahi illa yawmid-din.

Allah has forgiven you

Sayyiduna Jabir ibne-Abdullah (RadhiAllaho anho) narrates
that a man came to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and said:

Alas, my sins!
Alas, my sins!
He said this twice or thrice.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) asked him to say.

Allahumma maghfiratuka awsaou min dhunubi wa rahmatuka arja indi min amali

O Allah, Your forgiveness is more encompassing than my sins;
and I expect far more of Your Mercy than my own deeds.

The man said these words:
Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:
Say it again!
He repeated it.
Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:
Say it once more!
He repeated these words.
Then Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

Now get up;
indeed,
Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala has forgiven you.

Seeking refuge with Allah from 4 things

O Allah! I seek refuge with You from these four things.”Anas bin Malik and Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah would say:
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min ‘ilmin la yanfa’ wa min qalbin La yakhsha’ wa min du’a'in la yusma’ wa min nafsin la tashba’“O Allah! I seek refuge with You from knowledge that does not benefit, and from a heart that is not subdued and humble, and from a supplication that is not heard, and from a self that is not satisfied.”
And he would then say: “O Allah! I seek refuge with You from these four things.”

[Reported by an-Nasa'i (5470, 5536 & 5537) and Abu Dawud (1548), and it is sahih]

Two kinds of knowledge from Allah's Apostle

Volume 1, Book 3, Number 121: Narrated Abu Huraira:
I have memorized two kinds of knowledge from Allah's Apostle . I have propagated one of them to you and if I propagated the second, then my pharynx (throat) would be cut (i.e. killed).
Imam Ibn Hajr al Asqalani (rah) in his great Fath al Bari explains this hadith that the second knowledge is knowledge of future events

One of the explaination of Abu Huraira (ra) in that particular hadith, was that he was referring to a disaster that was going to hapen to the believers in the year of fitna ,Ali (ra) was killed and during Yazid reign many believers were slaughtered.

Al-Haafidh Ibn Hajr al-Asqalani (rah) explains the Hadeeth above, as follows:ref: Fath al-Baari, Kitaab al-Ilm.. Chapter: On Preserving Knowledge

“The Ulema understood/took this type of Ilm (Knowledge), that he, Abu Hurayrah (ra), did not transmit/propagate, as a (meaning) reference to those Ahadeeth that mention/reveal the names of the Ameers (leaders) of evil, their conditions and their era/period..

And Abu Hurayrah (ra) used to point towards some of this (Knowledge) without declaration, fearing for himself - from them, such as his saying: ‘I seek refuge with Allah from the head of the sixty, and the Leadership of the Youth’ - indicating/pointing towards the Khaleefah of Yazeed Ibn Mu’awiyyah, due to it being the year sixty after Hijrah..

And Allah aza wajall answered the Du’aa of Abu Hurayrah (ra), as he passed away a year before this (occurrence)..

Ibn al-Muneer (rah) said: ‘The Baatiniyyah made (used) this Hadeeth as a means to making their falsehood (seem) correct, as they believed that the Shariah has a Dhaahir (apparent meaning/knowledge) and Baatin (hidden/inner/secret meaning/knowledge), and the result of that Baatin is dissolution of the Deen’He said:

‘Abu Hurayrah (ra) intended/meant by his saying “(then my pharynx/throat) would be cut” – meaning: that the People of Injustice would cut his neck/head off if they had heard him criticising/finding faults with their actions,

And what supports this, is that - the written Ahadeeth, if they were from the Ahkaam (rulings), he would not have concealed it, because of what he, Abu Hurayrah (ra), mentioned in the 1st hadeeth (of this chapter in Saheeh al-Bukhari - see below), and (his citation of) the Ayah that condemns (curses) those that conceal knowledge..

And other(s) said: ‘It could mean matters relating to the Signs of the Hour, changes in conditions, and fierce battles at the end of time – so then the ones who were not familiar with it, would reject it’..”

The Imaam mentions: If this type of knowledge would have been from the Ahkaam (rulings), then Abu Hurayrah (ra) would NOT have concealed it, due to the following Hadeeth that he also narrated - within the same Chapter: Preserving Knowledge, Kitaab al-Ilm:

Abu Hurayrah (ra) narrated:“People say that I have narrated many Hadiths (The Prophet's narrations). Had it not been for two verses in the Qur'an, I would not have narrated a single Hadith, and the verses are:"Lo! Those who hide the proofs and the guidance which We revealed, after We had made it clear to mankind in the Scripture: such are accursed of Allah and accursed of those who have the power to curse.Except those who repent and amend and make manifest (the truth). These it is toward whom I relent. I am the Relenting, the Merciful." Qur'an, chapter 2, Al-Baqarah, verse 159-160

And no doubt our Muhajir (emigrant) brothers used to be busy in the market with their business (bargains) and our Ansari brothers used to be busy with their property (agriculture). But I (Abu Huraira) used to stick to Allah's Apostle contented with what will fill my stomach and I used to attend that which they used not to attend and I used to memorize that which they used not to memorize.”Saheeh al-Bukhari: Vol 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 118 Additionally, Al-Imaam mentions that the Type of Ilm which Abu Hurayrah (rah) held back, was related to Fitan, Turmoil etc.. In particular, the names of the “Leaders of Evil”, their conditions and Era/Period..

This point has also been mentioned in the following Hadeeth..Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman (ra) Narrated:“I swear by Allah, I do not know whether my companions have forgotten or have pretended to forgot. I swear by Allah that the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) did not omit a leader of a wrong belief (fitnah) -- up to the end of the world -- whose followers reach the number of three hundred and upwards but he mentioned to us his name, his father's name and the name of his tribe.”

Sunan Abi Dawud: Book 35, Number 4231 During the course of his discussion, Al-Haafidh proceeds to quote Ibn Al-Muneer (rah) on how the “Baatiniyyah” (mis)used the Hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah (ra) (i.e. Two Kinds of Knowledge) in an attempt to prove their Falsehood as the “Haqq”....Abdus Salaam Harun states:“The word Baatiniyyah, referred to as the Baatinites, is derived from the word “Baatin” which means the inside of a thing. The Baatinites are those who claim that the Shariah has a Dhaahir (outer aspect) and a Baatin (inner aspect)”..

al-Mu’jam al-Qaseet, 2/91Imaam Abu Hamid al-Ghazzali (rah) observes that The Baatiniyyah “were given this name because of their claim that the Literal texts of the Qur’aan and the Ahadeeth have inner meanings which are like the kernel of a nut in relation to its shell”Fadaaih al-Baatiniyyah, p.11“They also say that the exterior of the texts delude the ignorant masses into seeing only beautiful pictures which to the intelligent few are mere symbols and signs pointing to hidden realities.”
Taken from Talbees Iblees - Ibn al-Jawzee (rah), p.52

Conclusion - The Knowledge which was NOT revealed (i.e. concealed) is related to the events of the future and Fitan (Trials) – it has NOTHING to do with the Rulings in the Shariah (as it is not permissible to conceal Guidance from one another).. Nor does it relate to any matter which can take us further away from the Hell Fire or bring us closer to Paradise.

A Mercy to Mankind

A Mercy to Mankind:
Muhammad (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam):

Hadith
Narrated Abu Huraira ( radi Allahu anhu ) :I heard Allah's Apostle (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) saying,
"My example and the example of the peopleis that of a man who made a fire, and when it lighted what was around it,Moths and other insects started falling into the fire. The man tried (his best) to prevent them, (from falling in the fire)but they overpowered him and rushed into the fire.
The Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) added:

He (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) supplicate:

" O Allah! Forgive Aishah,
All her past sins and future sins,
and her secret sins and her open sins."

Hearing this Aishah (Radiyallahu anha) laughed so much
in pleasure that her head touched her lap.
The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:
Are you very happy with my Duua?
Ummul Momineen Sayyidina Aaisha (Radiyallahu anha) replied:
Why should I not be happy with your Duua for me!
He (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:
I swear by Allah!
This is my Duua for my Ummah in every Salat.

that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

a man whom Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
has given knowledge of the Qur'an,
and so he recites it
during the night and during the day;
and a man whom Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
has given wealth
and so he spends ( to please Allah ) from it
during the night and during the day.''

Regretful gathering

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra ( radi Allahu anhu ) reported:
the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said,
If people sit together without doing the Dhikr of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala,
and without sending Salawat on Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam,
then this gathering will be a cause of regret for them on the Day of Resurrection
even though they might enter Paradise as a reward of their good deeds.
(Ibne-Hibban)

I heard Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying:

Whoever goes to the masjid in the morning or in the evening,
ALLAH, Subhanahu wa ta'ala, prepares for him a good hospitality
in Paradise as often as he goes to the masjid, morning or evening.

For whoever confers blessings upon me

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As ( radi Allahu anhu ) narrates
that he heard the Noble Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) saying,

" When you hear the caller to prayer proclaiming adhan,
repeat what he says.
Then confer blessings upon me,
for whoever confers blessings upon me,
Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, will confer ten blessings upon him.
Then ask Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, to grant me the wasilah.
It is a station in Paradise which is reserved for only one bondsman
from the bondsmen of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala,
and I hope that I am this one bondsman.
Whoever asks that I be granted wasilah,
my intercession will become incumbent upon him."

Face shining like the full moon

Sayyiduna Abu Dardah radi Allahu anhu reported:
the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said,
A person who recites
La ilaha illallah
(There is none worthy of worship except Allah)
one hundred times a day,
will on the Day of Resurrection,
be raised with his face shining like the full moon,
and none can surpass him in excellence on that day
except one who recites this Kalimah more than he.

{ Al-Tabarani }

Recite after every prayer

Mu`adh (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam )
took hold of my hand and said,

"O Mu`adh! By Allah I love you,
so I advise you to never forget to recite after every prayer:

"Allahumma a`inni ala dhikrika,
wa shukrika, wa husni `ibadatika"

(O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You,
and to worship You in an excellent manner).''
[Abu Dawud].

Commentary: This Hadith stresses the fact that one should seek
the Help of Allah for His remembrance, thanksgiving and worship,
because one cannot do anything without His Help and Support.
It also shows the superiority of Mu`adh (May Allah be pleased with him)
and the Prophet's love for him.

Gathered together for Zikr of Allah

Anas (Radhiallaho anho) reported
that Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) had said,

"When some people assemble for the Zikr of Allah
with the sole purpose of earning His pleasure,
an angel proclaims from the sky,
"You people have been forgiven,
your sins have been replaced by virtues."

Inmates of Jannah regret the time not devoted to zikr

Maaz bin Jabal (Radhiallaho anho) reported:
The Holy Prophet (sallallaho alaihe wasallam) said,

"Those who are admitted into paradise will
not regret over anything of this world,
except the time spent without Zikr in their life."

Constant Zikr - a means to elevation of status in Jannah

Saeed Al-Khudri (Radhiallaho anho) reported:
Rasulullah (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam), said,

while lying comfortably in their soft beds, and for this,
they will be rewarded with the highest positions
in Paradise by Almighty Lord."

Best Deeds

Best Deeds
It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Mas'ood (may Allah be pleased with him), who observed: "I asked Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) which deed was the best." He (the Holy Prophet) replied: 'The Prayer at its appointed hour.' I (again) asked: "Then what?" He (the Holy Prophet) replied: 'Kindness to the parents.' I (again) asked: "Then what?" He replied: 'Earnest struggle (Jihad) in the cause of Allah.' I refrained from asking any more questions for fear of annoying him. (Sahih Muslim: 120)Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was asked about the best of deeds. He observed: "Belief in Allah." He (the inquirer) asked: 'What next?' He (the Holy Prophet) replied: "Jihad (struggle to the utmost) in the cause of Allah." He (the inquirer) again asked: 'What next?' He (the Holy Prophet) replied: "Pilgrimage accepted into the grace of the Lord." (Sahih Muslim: 118)Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that I asked the Messenger of Allah: "Which of the deeds is the best?" He (the Holy Prophet) replied: 'Belief in Allah and Jihad in His cause.' I again asked: "Who is the slave whose emancipation is the best?" He (the Holy Prophet) replied: 'One who is valuable for his master and whose price is high.' I asked: "What if I cannot afford to do it?" He (the Holy Prophet) replied: 'Help an artisan or make anything for the unskilled (laborer).' I (Abu Dharr) said: "O Messenger of Allah, you see that I am helpless in doing some of these deeds." He (the Holy Prophet) replied: 'Desist from doing mischief to the people. That is your own charity for your self.' (Sahih Muslim: 119)SOME OF THE HUMAN QUALITIES ALLAH, THE ALMIGHTY LOVES "Say (O Muhammad to mankind): "If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic monotheism, follow the Quran and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Quran: 3:31)Patience "And Allah loves as-Sabirun (the patient)." (Quran: 3:146)Justice and Dealing with Equity "Be just: that is nearer to piety; and fear Allah." (Quran: 5:8)Putting Trust in Allah "Certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him)." (Quran: 3:76)Good-doing "Truly, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers)." (Quran: 2:195)Body Purification "And Allah loves those who make themselves clean and pure [ i.e. who clean their private parts with dust (which has the properties of soap) and water from urine and stools, after answering the call of nature]." (Quran: 9:108)Humility of the Rich Muslim narrated: Sa'd Ibn Abi Waqqas said: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "Allah loves the believer who is pious and rich, but does not show off."Belief and Work Al-Tabarani narrated: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "Allah loves the slave who believes and acquires a career (or work)."Reflection of Allah's Grace Al-Tirmidhi narrated: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "Allah loves from amongst his slaves, the one who has a sense of zeal or honor."Magnanimity Al-Hakim narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah is All-Generous and He loves generosity in sale, purchase and judgment."Virtuosity The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: " Allah loves the slave-believer who is poor but virtuous enough to refrain from begging though he has many children." (Muslim and Ahmed)Loftiness Al-Tabarani narrated: the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah loves lofty matters and superiority and hates inferior matters."Justice Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "Allah loves that you be just toward your children even when kissing them." Any other love should be for His sake too. The real love of Allah is to do whatever He ordained and to abandon whatever He forbade, in addition to following the Prophet's Sunnah.Whoever obeys someone or something other than Allah and His Messenger, or follows any saying other than theirs, or fears other than Allah or seeks the pleasure of other than Allah, or puts his trust in other than Him, does not love Allah, nor does he love His Messenger. Muslims should also love one another and wish the best for one another. Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "One will not be a true believer unless he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." (Bukhari, Muslim, Nasa'i, Ahmed and Ibn Majah)Imam Malik and Imam Ahmed narrated: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "Allah said: My love is due to those who love one another for My sake."

Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam said:
Control your tongue.
I said:
If my tongue is not in my control,
then what else can be in my control?
He (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) then said:
Do not use your hands except for good works,
And do not say from your tongue except what is good.

( to the appointed angels over you )

He (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) then explained it.
If any one intends to do a good deed but does not do it,
Allah enters for him in His record as a complete good deed;
and if he intends to do a good deed and does it,
Allah enters for him in His record as ten to seven hundred
and many more times as much.
If any one intends to do a bad deed and does not do it
( because of fear of Allah ),
Allah enters it for him in His record as a complete good deed;
but if he intends to do it and does it,
Allah records it for him as one bad deed.

who had been living the most comfortable and luxurious life in the world,

He will reply: No, by Allah, O my Rabb!
And a person from the people of Paradise, who had been living a most distressful
life in the world, will be brought, (and) dipped once in Paradise.

No misfortune has ever come my way and I have never experienced any distress.

Yes, if he slanders another person¢s father,
the latter would slander his father
and if he slanders someone,s mother,
the latter in turn, would slander his mother.

Expiating acts & Elevating ranks

Mu'ath Bin Jabal, Ibn 'Abbas, 'Ubaydah Bin al-Jarrah, and others (RAA) reported that the Prophet (ASWS) was once so late in coming out to lead the morning prayer that the sun was about to rise. He came out of his home hurriedly, led the people in a (relatively) short prayer, and then turned toward them and said:

"Stay in your places, for I will tell you what delayed me this morning: I got up during the night and prayed for as long as was decreed for me. Then I became so sleepy while praying that I found it hard to continue (so I slept). I then saw (in a dream) my Lord (AWJ) in the best form.
He asked me, "O Muhammad, about what does the most supreme society (i.e., the angels) argue?" I said, "I do not know, my Lord." He asked me (again), "O Muhammad, about what does the most supreme society argue?" I said, "I do not know, my Lord." He asked me (a third time), "O Muhammad, about what does the most supreme society argue?" I said, "I do not know, my Lord." Then He placed His palm (on my back) between my shoulder-blades, and I felt the coolness of His fingers inside my chest. Everything then became clear to me, and I knew (the answer). He asked me, "O Muhammad, about what does the most supreme society argue?" I replied, "(They argue about) the expiating acts and (the acts that elevate) the ranks (of the believers in Jannah)."He asked, "
What are the expiating acts?" I replied, "(They are) walking (once and again) to
the jama'ah prayers, sitting in the place of prayer (saying thikr) after
prayers, waiting (with anticipation) for the (next) prayer after the (previous)
prayer, and performing complete wudu' (even in) disliked conditions."He asked,
"What are the (acts that elevate in) ranks?" I replied, "(They are:) feeding
food (to the needy), spreading (the greeting of) salam, speaking kindly (to
others), and praying at night while people are asleep." Then He commanded me,
"Ask (from me),"
Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'l-al-khayrat, wa-tark-al-munkarat, wa-hubb-al-masakin, wa-an-taghfira li wa-tarhamani. Wa-itha aradta fitnatan fi qawmin, fa-tawaffani ghayra maftun. Wa-as'aluka hubbaka, wahubba man yuhibbuka, wahubba 'amalin yuquarribuni ila hubbik—O Allah, I ask you (to guide me to) doing good deeds, avoiding evil deeds, and loving the needy. And ( I ask you) to forgive me and show me mercy. And when You will to afflict some people (around me) with a (destructive) tribulation, take my life without being changed (in faith). And I beseech You (to grant me) the love of You, of those who love You, and of all deeds that can bring me nearer to Your love."

It was recorded by at-Tirmithi, ahmad, and others. Verified to be authentic by al-Albani (as-sahihah no. 3169, as-sunnah nos. 388, 465-471, and Irwa'ul-ghalil no. 684).

Glorification of ALLAH

Ummul Momineen Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith ( radi Allahu anha ) reported,
The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) came out from my apartment
in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer.
He (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there.
Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said,
"Are you still in the same position as I left you.
'' I replied in the affirmative.
Thereupon the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said,
"I recited four words three times after I had left you.
If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning,
these will be heavier.
These are:

Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, `adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi,
wa zinatah `arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi

[ Allah-Jallah jalala hu, is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise,
as many times as the number of His creatures,
in accordance with His Good Pleasure,
equal to the weight of His Throne and equal to the ink that
may be used in recording the words (for His Praise)].''

[Muslim].

Commentary:
The recitation of the words quoted in this Hadith is highly
meritorious and rewarding because they are full of Praise and
Glorification of ALLAH, Subhanahu wa ta'ala.

Someone saying, Allah, Allah

Sayyiduna Anas (Radiyallahu Anho) narrates
that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

The Hour of the Day of Resurrection will not come
until there will be no one left in the world who says
ALLAH,
ALLAH.
And in another narration:
The Hour of the Day of Resurrection will not be
established so long as there is someone saying,
ALLAH,
ALLAH

Allah will make him enter Jannah

Ubadah bin As-Samit (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said,

"He who bears witness that there is no true god except Allah,
alone having no partner with Him,
that Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
is His slave and His Messenger,
that `Isa (Jesus) is His slave and Messenger and he (Jesus) is His Word which
He communicated to Maryam (Mary) and His spirit which He sent to her,
that Jannah is true and Hell is true;

Allah will make him enter Jannah
accepting whatever deeds he accomplished ".

[Al-Bukhari].

The best amongst you

Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan ( radi Allahu anhu ) reported:
the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said,

" The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it."
[At-Tirmidhi]

Believe in Allah

Sufyan ibne Abdullah Aththaqafi Radiyallahu anhu narrated
that I asked: O Rasulallah! (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim)
Tell me something most important about Islam, so that I will
have no further need to ask about this from anyone after you.
He (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallim) said:
Say, I believe in Allah, and be steadfast therein.

(Muslim)

Note: First, to believe in Allah and in all of His attributes,
then comply with His Commandments and those of His Messenger.
This Iman and compliance thereof ought not to be transitional
but should be held steadfastly to. (Mazahir Haque)

Never refused to give anything

Sayyiduna Jabbir ibne-Abdullah (radiallahu anhu) said

{ Muslim }

Mercy to Mankind

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra ( radi Allahu anhu )
narrates that it was requested ;

O Rasulallah ! (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam)
Curse the polytheists.
He (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said:
I have not been sent as one who curses;
Indeed, I have been sent only as a mercy.

This is my Dua for my Ummah

Ummul Momineen Sayyidina Aaisha (Radiyallahu anha) narrates that
once I saw the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) delighted,
I said:
O Rasulullah! (Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam )
Supplicate to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, for me.

{ Bazzar, Majma-ul-Zawaid }

Best Times to make Du'a

There are certain times dua (supplication) is more likely to be accepted by Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) as mentioned by Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam). These times are as follows:

1. The Last Third Of The Night

Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that Allah's Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'In the last third of every night our Rabb (Cherisher and Sustainer) (Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala)) descends to the lowermost heaven and says; "Who is calling Me, so that I may answer him? Who is asking Me so that may I grant him? Who is seeking forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him?."' [Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith Qudsi]Amr ibn Absah narrated that the Prophet said: 'The closest any worshipper can be to His Lord is during the last part of the night, so if you can be amongst those who remember Allah at that time, then do so.'[at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa'i, al-Hakim - Sahih]

2. Late At Night

When people are sleeping and busy with worldly pleasures Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) gives the believers an opportunity, or an answer hour if they can fight sleep and invoke Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) for whatever they need.

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'There is at night an hour, no Muslim happens to be asking Allah any matter of this world or the Hereafter, except that he will be given it, and this (occurs) every night.'[Muslim #757]

3. Between Adhan and Iqamah

Anas (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that Allah's Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'A supplication made between the Adhan and Iqama is not rejected.' [Ahmad, abu Dawud #521, at-Tirmidhi #212, Sahih al-Jami #3408, an-Nasai and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (sound)]

4. An Hour On Friday

Narrated Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu): Allah's Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) talked about Friday and said: 'There is an hour on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while offering Salat (prayer) and asks something from Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala), then Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) will definitely meet his demand.' And he (the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) pointed out the shortness of that particular time with his hands.[Sahih al-Bukhari]Some have said that this hour is from the time the Imam (prayer's leader) enters the mosque on Friday's prayer until the prayer is over (ie between the two khutbahs), whereas others have said that it is the last hour of the day (ie after the Asr prayer until the Maghrib prayer). (Note: when we say an hour here we do not mean the hour everyone knows (60 minutes) but an unspecified period of time because the time counters which we use today came after the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) had died.

5. While Drinking Zamzam Water

Jaber (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that Allah's Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'Zamzam water is for what it is drunk for.' [Ahmad 3: 357 and Ibn Majah #3062] This means that when you drink Zamzam water you may ask Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) for anything you like to gain or benefit from this water such as healing from illness.... etc.

6. While Prostrating
Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that Allah's Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam), said: 'The nearest a slave can be to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so invoke (supplicate) Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) much in it. [Muslim, abu Dawud, an-Nasa'i and others, Sahih al-Jami #1175]

When a Muslim is in his Salat (prayer) he is facing Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) and when he prostrates he is the nearest he can be to Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) so it is best to invoke Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) at this time.It is said that while in prostration, one should not ask for worldy needs (ie a nice car, a new job, etc), but for the Hereafter.

7. When Waking Up At Night

Narrated Ubada Bin As-Samit that Allah's Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'Whomever wakes up at night and says La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shrika lahu lahulmulku, wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa ala kulli shai'in qadir. Alhamdu lillahi, wa subhanallahi wa la ilaha illallahu, wallah akbir, wa la hawla wala quwata illa billah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) He is the only one who has no partners. His is the kingdom and all the praises are for Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) All the glories are for Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) And none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) and Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) is the most Great and there is neither might nor power except with Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) and then says, Allahumma ighfir li (O Allah! Forgive me) or invokes Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala), he will be responded to and if he makes ablution and performs Salat (prayer), his Salat (prayer) will be accepted. [Sahih al-Bukhari]

8. At The End Of The Obligatory Salat

Narrated Abu Omamah (radiAllahu anhu): that Allah's Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) was asked, O Messenger of Allah, which supplication is heard (by Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala), he said the end of the night and at the end of the obligatory Salat (prayer) [at-Tirmidhi] This time is after saying 'At-tahyat' , and before making Tasleem (finishing prayer)

9. The Night Of 'Qadr' (Decree)

This night is the greatest night of the year. This is the night which the almighty Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) said about it, "The night of Al-Qadar (Decree) is better than a thousand months." [Surah al-Qadr, 97: 3]The Night of Decree is one of the odd nights of the last ten nights of the blessed month of Ramadan. The angels descend down to the earth, and the earth is overwhelmed with peace and serenity until the break of dawn and when he doors of Paradise are opened, the worshipper is encouraged to turn to Allah to ask for his needs for this world and the Hereafter.

10. During The Rain

Narrated Sahel Ibn Sa'ad (radiAllahu anhu): that the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'Two will not be rejected, Supplication when the Adhan (call of prayer) is being called, and at the time of the rain'. [Al-Hakim 2: 114, and Abu Dawud #2540, ibn Majah] 'Seek the response to your du'as when the armies meet, and the prayer is called, and when rain falls'[reported by Imam al-Shafi' in al-Umm, al-Sahihah #1469] The time of the rain is a time of mercy from Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) so, one should take advantage of this time when Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) is having mercy on His slaves.

11. At The Adhan

'Seek the response to your du'as when the armies meet, and the prayer is called, and when rain falls'[reported by Imam al-Shafi' in al-Umm, al-Sahihah #1469] In another hadith; 'When the prayer is called, the doors of the skies are opened, and the du'a is answered'[al-Tayalisi in his Musnad #2106, al-Sahihah #1413]

12. The One Who Is Suffering Injustice And Opression

The Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said to Mua'ad Ibn Jabal (radiAllahu anhu), 'Beware of the supplication of the unjustly treated, because there is no shelter or veil between it (the supplication of the one who is suffering injustice) and Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala)' [Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim] The prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) declared,'Three men whose dua is never rejected (by Allah) are: the fasting person until he breaks his fast (in another narration, when he breaks fast), the just ruler and the one who is oppressed.'[Ahmad, at-Tirmidhi - Hasan] In another hadith; The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) declared:'Three du'as are surely answered: The du'a of the oppressed, the du'a of the traveler, and the du'a of the father/mother (upon their child)'The One who is suffering injustice is heard by Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) when he invokes Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) to retain his rights from the unjust one or oppressor. Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) has sworn to help the one who is suffering from injustice sooner or later as the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said.

13. The Traveler
